Vintage Jump Hour Watches

Jump Hour watches were 1st invented in clocks in the 19th century & was then copied by the pocket watches. The dial has hour, minute & seconds indication window with numeral disc beneath the dial showing the time in numbers instead of hands for time indication.

In the early 1950s to 1960s, when LED watches using batteries were invented, these jump hour watches were produced by the Swiss manufacturers to compete with this new technology, but with mechanical mechanism. The final struggle of these watches were in the 1960s to 1970s, when quartz watches started appearing in the millions, then the Swiss watch industry went downhill losing the battle to these cheap & precise quartz watches.

These Jump Hour watches were produced for a short span of over 10 to 15 years & good quality examples are not so easy to find, like those automatics & higher jeweled ones. Here are some fine examples which are really unique & interesting.
